Spiritual Wellness
All spiritual wellness sessions at Amanjiwo are imbued with the tranquility of the destination and offer holistic opportunities for guests to disconnect, find balance and reconnect. Incorporating ancestral practices drawn from local Javanese culture, these sessions can include ancient blessing rituals such as Tolak Balak – a purification ritual encompassing the recitation of mantras and the sampling of jamu, a plant-based, immune boosting drink – and Ruwatan. The latter is a potent ceremony signifying a new start that includes a sacred wayang kulit (shadow puppet) performance.
Traditional Indonesian Treatments
A Javanese bride’s classic preparation for her wedding day, the Mandi Lulur ritual includes an intense Pijat massage that works deeply into the muscles to rejuvenate and relax, a body mask and exfoliation with white turmeric, honey and rice, and a warm herbal bath. Acclaimed as the masculine version of Mandi Lulur, Lulur Hitam includes a full body scrub with black rice and coffee preceded by a relaxing massage and completed with a soothing herbal soak.
Yoga
With its tranquil ambience and uplifting spirit, Amanjiwo is the ideal setting in which to experience the benefits of yoga and meditation. Our well-respected teachers offer both Hatha and Ashtanga yoga styles for all levels of ability, in both indoor and outdoor settings.
Tennis
Amanjiwo invites guests to learn and improve their tennis skills at the resort's hard tennis court, located not far from the lobby. Tennis lessons and hitting partners can be arranged, and all equipment is provided.
