International flights 

For those travelling directly to Aman Kyoto, and not passing through Tokyo, there are daily flights from major international hubs into Osaka’s Kansai International Airport (KIX), the closest international airport to Kyoto. 

 

Entry requirements/visas 

Citizens of some countries enjoy visa-free access to Japan (depending on length of stay), but others require a visa before travel. Aman Kyoto recommends that all international guests refer to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan to obtain accurate information on entry requirements and all the necessary steps. 

 

Airport transfers

When arriving at Kansai International Airport (KIX) there are two options for transferring to Aman Kyoto: a two-hour drive, or an 80-minute express train to Kyoto Station followed by a 30-minute car ride. Osaka Itami Airport (ITM), which only serves domestic flights, is a 60-minute drive from Aman Kyoto.

Travelling between properties

Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) is just over an hour’s domestic flight from both Nagoya’s Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO) – a 35-minute helicopter ride from Amanemu – and Osaka Itami Airport (ITM) – a one-hour scenic drive from Aman Kyoto.  

Helicopter charters are easily arranged, with a 50-minute travel time between Amanemu and Aman Kyoto. Helicopter flights between Aman Tokyo and the two southerly resorts are just under two hours.
