To mark our fifth anniversary, Aman Kyoto invites you to the Takagamine Chakai, a unique tea gathering inspired by the historic local Takagamine area. This special event will take place in an intimate setting limited to just 10 guests each day.   
 
Indulge in an exclusive kaiseki lunch, artfully curated by Shinichiro Takagi, Executive Chef of Taka-An, renowned for his inventive approach to Japanese cuisine. Delight in the flavours of autumn as dishes are prepared up close at our convivial counter, where encounters with the chef and fellow guests create a truly unique experience. Complementing the savoury offerings, Executive Pastry Chef Hiroyuki Matsuo presents exquisite seasonal confections featuring Kitayama cedar sprouts and sansho pepper from our forest garden, as well as local delights like Kyoto-grown persimmons and Tamba chestnuts.   
 
Conclude your afternoon with Chako, the innovative Japanese tea shisha. Begin by igniting charcoal to release the essence of tea leaves, then inhale the delicate, filtered tea smoke through a bespoke bamboo pipe – a new sensory experience providing a deep appreciation of the mellow tea flavour, distinct from conventional ceremonies. Then savour an unparalleled autumn moment in Aman Kyoto's forest garden, as its foliage begins to glow in vibrant shades of red, yellow and orange.
