Most foreign citizens entering China will be required to obtain a visa before they travel. For this reason, Amandayan recommends that all international guests refer to the Chinese Visa Application Centre website to obtain information on the necessary steps and entry requirements.
Cities throughout China offer direct flights to Lijiang, including Aman destinations Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou. Currently, the only direct international flight to and from Lijiang Sanyi International Airport (LJG) is operated by Ruili Airline out of Bangkok, Thailand, three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Amandayan’s hilltop setting is a 30km scenic drive from Lijiang Sanyi International Airport, a journey of around 50 minutes. Amandayan’s concierge team can arrange private transfers in a choice of vehicles on request.

Known as the Land of Eternal Spring due to its appealing climate, Yunnan is one of China’s loftiest provinces. Please take the high altitude (2,400m) into consideration when travelling to Amandayan, and take it easy for the first few days while acclimatising to the thinner air. Also bear in mind that while days are warm, temperatures can drop sharply in the evenings. Sunglasses and suncream are a must due to high levels of UV at this altitude.
