Inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine
Adopting TCM’s holistic approach to personal wellbeing, the Spa’s therapies range from seasonal baths and scrubs using local ingredients, to traditional Chinese foot reflexology and Tui Na. The latter is a form of massage that works to relax the body and restore the flow of Qi, or life force, by focusing on certain acupressure points to increase circulation and boost the body’s self-healing capabilities.
Signature treatments
Heated bamboo is used as an extension of the therapist’s hands in the flowing Bamboo Aromatherapy Massage, while the anti-inflammatory Herbal Compress Massage uses prai root, ginger, turmeric and lemongrass to improve circulation and soothe muscles. Seasonal Spa Journeys are also offered, tailored to meet individual needs.
The art of Tai Chi
On a wooden deck surrounded by trees, practice this ancient Chinese wellness art guided by an experienced Tai Chi master. The slow graceful movements focus the mind in a kind of moving meditation, and the holding of postures drawn from martial arts strengthens muscles and increases stamina. Tai Chi is considered an Intangible Cultural Heritage of China by Unesco.
