Find enlightenment amid the silent stupas and deeply spiritual setting of Amanjiwo, overlooking Unesco-crowned Borobudur temple and the misty volcano-ringed countryside of Java. Over three restful nights, this Indonesian retreat, hosted by mindfulness expert and yoga teacher Hendrick Tanuwidjaja, will guide guests to new ways of wisdom via movement, meditation, monk-led rituals, special temple-hosted dinners and symbolic dove-release ceremonies.

Hendrick Tanuwidjaja is the first Indonesian to receive international certification as a Qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Teacher (QMT) from the University of California in San Diego. He is also certified by Oxford University as a Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) teacher and conducts dozens of mindfulness training sessions in settings across Indonesia today. Before focusing in on science-based mindfulness, Hendrick practiced Chinese zen meditation for 10 years, gaining an ordination as a Shingon priest from Mahabodhi Monastery in Singapore. He also practices yoga in the Svastha yoga lineage of Indian teacher, AG Mohan, himself a student of the late Ayurvedic healer and scholar, Sri Krishnamacharya, who lived to the age of 100.
